Q1. 거제에 머무르신지 3일차인데, 거제도는 어떤가요?

As the third day of staying in Geo-je, how do you like this place?

A1. 제가 느낀 거제는 세일링 장소로서 아주 훌륭하고, 아름답고, 물도 맑고, 좋은 연안 항구가 있는 것 같습니다. 세일링 장소에 아주 적합하고, 대회를 운영하기에도 훌륭합니다.

Oh, Geo-je for me is a really good sailing venue with beautiful and clear water, also good coast harbours. It’s just an excellent sailing venue, a great place to run a competition.

Q2. 현재 거제날씨에 변동이 많은데, 심판으로써 가장 중요하게 생각하는 부분이 있다면?

Since there’s lots of weather changes, what is the most important thing that you consider working as a judge?

A2. 날씨 변화에 심판의 첫 번째 임무이자 우선순위는 항상 안전입니다. 안전이 최우선이죠. 바람이 좋을 때조차도 모든 사람의 안전이 최우선입니다. 물 위에서 시간을 보낼 때는, 아무도 규칙을 위반하지 않도록 확인하고, 스포츠의 발전을 위해 선수들을 관찰하는 것이 중요합니다.

Well, as the weather changes, the first job of a jury or a priority is always safety. So the safety always comes first. Most of the time even with good winds, everybody’s safe is priority. So when we spend time on the water, making certain that nobody is breaking any rules and keeping an eye on competitors from the point of view of what’s good for the sport.

Q3. 심판으로써 이번 대회에 가장 중점적으로 두고 있는 부분이 있다면?

As a judge, what is the main focus or priority for you in this competition?

A3. 이번 대회는 올림픽 클래스가 포함되어 있어 매우 중요한 경기라고 생각합니다. 따라서 규칙과 범주지시서가 모두에게 명확하게 전달되도록 작성되는 것이 매우 중요합니다. 또한 항의가 있을 경우, 이를 가장 최선의 방식으로 처리할 준비가 되어 있어야 합니다.

This particular event has the Olympic classes. so I think it’s a serious competition and so we need to make absolutely certain that the rules are written, the sailing instructions are written in a way that they are clear to everybody and that we are ready if there is a protest to handle it in the most best way possible.

Q4. 거제도에서 먹어본 음식 중에 가장 좋아하거나 맛있었던 음식은?

What is the most favorite or delicious food in Geo-je?

A4. 제가 가장 좋아하는 음식이요? 저는 생선이나 돼지고기로 만든 매운 국물을 좋아해요. 이름은 잘 모르겠지만 정말 좋아합니다. 아침 식사로 먹는 건 익숙하지 않지만, 그래도 좋고 재미있어요.

My favorite food? I like the hot and spicy soup with fish or pork. I do not know the name of them. But I love it. I'm not used to having that for breakfast but that’s good and fun.
